Flion Aviary
Flions are wyverns very closely related to the great Sanori Dragon Mages. The main difference is that Flions aren't elemental dragons, nor do most of them have any magical powers. They do, however, have strong mental and emotional bonds to their caregiver, usually being able to speak telepathically or send emotional feelings. Despite their grace and beauty, and lack of any magical power, they are very strong dragons. They are very territorial, too, except with other flions or smaller dragons or drakes. They usually get along best with their caregivers and their mates.
Flions can have two types of mates: a life mate who is a creature that they bond with because of love (they don't need to be the same species or opposite sexes), and a breeding mate who is a creature they bond with to mate with and to lay a clutch (they do have to be the same species and opposite sexes), or they can have a mate that is both a life bond and a breeding bond (and if they are to mate to lay a clutch, they must be the same species and opposite sexes).
Flions are mainly flight based creatures, but sometimes they're born without wings. Even more uncommon, they're born without wings or legs, and are wyrms (dragons without legs or wings). They usually live in very foresty places, like the large garden aviary. Occassionally, they live in different places, even sometimes prefering watery areas or icey mountains. That might affect their coloring a little if that were to happen.
Generally, Flions get their colors, markings and all other genetic features from their parents. So if a one horned flion mated with a three horned flion, they would mostly have two horned flions. There is always at least one flion in every clutch that defies their parents genetics and is completely opposite from their siblings. No one is really sure why this is, but it widens the genetic pool quite a bit.
