Creature Sanctuary

You follow the narrow path beyond the limits of the garden. The lush greens begin to fade away the further you walk, and all around, they are replaced by vast sand dunes, as far as the eye can see. The little drake opens his wings wide in the desert air, chriping and singing as you walk. "The desert always has a very nice breeze! It feels nice against my wings." he says and lets go of your shoulder to fly above your head.

Far ahead, you see a small spot of green and blue. "There's an oasis!" Selakity exclaims, flying toward it as fast as his tiny wings can take him. You follow him to the rich spot in the empty desert. Out of breath, you stop just inside the shaded area surounding the cool, deep pool of water. "Look traveller! There are many creatures here!" he says, landing on your shoulder again.

As you walk on, a tall, strong looking dragonic guardian smiles knowingly. "His name is Jonin. He is a very good guardian!" Selakity tells you.

"These are desert drakes. They're a lot like other drakes, only they have four legs, and they love the sun."

A small grey flit circles around your head, inviting the drake to join it. "That's a shilaik dragon, a small cousin of the spikey cat dragon. They are always happy!"

The earth shakes as a large group of herding beasts run by through the desert sand. A few seperate from the group to drink the cool water of the oasis. "Those are diros! Many humans ride on them through the deserts, but they can live anywhere!"

"Wow!" exclaims the little drake, pointing to a small creature making its way through the dust and sand stirred up by the dirons. "It's another Digeral! This one looks so much like the sand that it almost blends in. I bet it wouldn't mind living somewhere else, though."
